Our Story

Over a century ago, missionaries and pioneers dreamed of a house of God in Ibadan. Their dream became reality in St. Mary’s Cathedral, Oke Padi—the mother church of the Archdiocese of Ibadan. Generations have been baptized, married, ordained, and comforted here. St. Mary’s is more than a building—it's our history, our family, and faith made visible in stone.

Our Present Reality

The Cathedral now bears the weight of time: structural wear, dated liturgical fittings, and facilities that no longer match a growing Catholic family. This challenge is also a divine invitation—to renew God’s house for future generations.
